A social pin program for Black Lives Matter

Even though everybody has thoughts on the social and political state of African Americans, he or she is afraid to voice such thoughts in public for fear of being perceived as prejudicial.

How it works:

People can wear the We Speak Matters heart pin to show anybody on the street that they are open to discuss Black Lives Matter in an open forum, where no opinion is taboo. In addition, when two We Speak Matters pins pass each other, they light up as a sign of solidarity.

Why we care:

The We Speak Matters heart pin will open people up to an honest, public discussion of Black Lives Matter. There is no anonymity like with online comments. People will have to tell each other how they really feel about the issue, face to face, bringing the conversation to light and then working for a solution together.
